Mozambique is a true hunter’s paradise—one of Africa’s last great, unexplored frontiers. Vast wild areas teem with unpressured game, offering a glimpse of the continent as it once was. Towering herds of buffalo roam the open floodplains and swamps in their hundreds, while the air hums with the raw vitality of untouched nature.
The hunting area, composed of roughly one-third swamp and the remainder dense forest, lies west of the Zambezi River, bordering the Marromeu National Park and extending all the way to 30 miles of pristine Indian Ocean coastline. This remarkable wilderness hosts an exceptional diversity of wildlife, offering 21 huntable game species—from the diminutive Livingstone’s suni to the mighty buffalo—and includes four of Africa’s legendary Big Five.
The main camp is set in a picturesque location beneath towering indigenous trees that offer refreshing shade and coolness during the heat of the day. The camp’s dedicated staff form a well-trained team of professionals who take great pride in ensuring every guest enjoys the finest hunting experience possible. Service here is first-class and highly personalized, reflecting true Mozambican warmth and attention to detail.
Accommodation consists of large, comfortable log cabins that are insect-proof and tastefully furnished in natural, soothing tones. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water and flush toilets, providing guests with all the comforts of home in a true wilderness setting. The camp features a spacious reed‑and‑thatch communal lounge and dining area, as well as a traditional lapa where guests can share hunting stories, plan the next day’s adventures, and admire the magnificent night sky.
The hunting season in Mozambique begins in April and runs through to the end of November, offering eight months of exceptional hunting opportunities across diverse landscapes and game species.
Mozambique enjoys a warm, tropical climate with an average temperature of around 28°C (82°F). From April to September, the cooler, drier winter season offers the most comfortable conditions, with refreshing nights that bring welcome relief from the warmth of the day. The summer months, from October to April, are typically hot, humid, and marked by seasonal rains. We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before their safari. Coverage should include accidental death and disability, loss of personal effects, emergency medical evacuation, major medical expenses, and trip cancellation. Having proper insurance ensures peace of mind and protection in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Before traveling, we recommend contacting your personal physician, local immunization clinic, or public health authority to determine which vaccinations are required or advised for travel to Mozambique. Guests should also bring an adequate supply of any personal medications.
For added safety, first-aid kits are available both in camp and in all safari vehicles. Satellite phones and radios ensure reliable communication in the event of an unexpected situation or emergency.
